The case of a driver who hit and killed a 2-year-old boy is back in the hands of the district attorney.
Bakersfield police arrested LaDanna Samara Morales in March.
Police said she hit Thaddeus Johnson in a motel parking lot.
Officers suspect Morales was under the influence of drugs at the time. She was booked on a misdemeanor DUI charge.
The case has been sent back to Bakersfield police for further investigation. Investigators re-submitted it to the DA’s office and are awaiting to hear if Morales will be charged.
