A Cal State Bakersfield graduate student is taking on an impressive project and is being recognized for his hard work.
Salvador Vargas recently received the Graduate Student-Faculty Collaborative Initiative Award in research and scholarship for this academic school year.
His project examines rare Earth element behavior along a redox gradient off the coast of San Diego.
Vargas is collaborating with his advisor, Assistant Professor of Geological Sciences, Dr. Chandranath Basak.
Vargas receives $1,250 and Dr. Basak receives $250.
