The Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET has accredited computer engineering, electrical engineering, and engineering sciences at CSUB. This affirms that graduates of these programs are ready to enter the fields that are at the head of the pack in innovation, emerging technologies and anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public.
With ABET being non-profit and not a government affiliated organization, but recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, which accredits over 3800 programs at more than 750 colleges and universities in 31 countries. This is something CSUB President is proud of.
“ABET accreditation is a game-changer for CSUB and employers of engineers as we rise to meet the workforce demands in Kern County,” said CSUB President Lynnette Zelezny. “We truly are ‘Runners on the rise.”
CSUB is striding toward the top with three newly accredited bachelor’s degree engineer programs and ranked at number five nationally for master’s degree programs in the D.C.-based magazine, Washington Monthly. In the last three years CSUB has climbed from number 87 to number 5 in the nation. Washington Monthly also placed CSUB at number two for “Best Bang for the Buck” in the Western Region of four-year colleges.
“We’re proud to receive national recognition for the quality of our students and faculty in our master’s programs as well for providing our students with an excellent educational opportunity that is both accessible and affordable.”
