UPDATE (10:34 a.m.): The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2016-2018 Kia Optima with right front damage to the fender and wheel well, according to the CHP. The agency released an image of that model of vehicle.
Officers said the pedestrian, described only as a man, was hit in the No. 2. lane of northbound Golden State Highway south of Airport Drive. It’s unclear what direction he was headed.
Hall Ambulance transported the man to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced dead.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A pedestrian was fatally struck on Golden State Highway by a vehicle that left the scene Thursday morning.
The California Highway Patrol is reporting that at around 6:12 a.m., a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Golden State Highway near F Street.
