County to launch health screening, nutrition pilot program in Buttonwillow Tuesday

Kern County Public Health wants to make sure you “Know Your Numbers,” and they’re piloting a program for it in Buttonwillow Tuesday.

Buttonwillow residents will receive free health screenings and provided with nutrition and fitness classes over a 12-week period. 

Residents can head to the Buttonwillow Recreation Center at 556 Milo Ave. at 4 p.m.

Health officials hope to expand the program countywide by early next year.

They say it’s one step in the fight against chronic disease, including diabetes and heart disease.
