Costume scare: Live ammo at Florida university

Police at the University of Central Florida say a student wearing a Halloween costume that included real ammunition prompted a police response on campus Tuesday.

Officers were called after receiving reports of a suspicious person.

They found a man wearing a long leather coat and a bandolier loaded with live ammunition.

When questioned, the man said he was wearing a “Terminator” Halloween costume.

UCF Police Chief Carl Metzger says it’s not illegal to have live ammo on campus, but he is alarmed that only one person called it in.
