Corrections officer accused of killing Bakersfield woman, found dead in Idaho

The suspect in the killing of a Las Vegas mother has been found dead in Idaho, according to our sister station KLAS in Las Vegas.

Christopher Caggiano, 41, was found in his vehicle Tuesday evening dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Caggiano was suspected in the murder of Cheri Anaya, 32, of Bakersfield. Anaya was found shot to death on Saturday, July 14 by her two children at Caggiano’s Las Vegas home.

Anaya was from Bakersfield and was temporarily staying with Caggiano, a corrections officer with the state of Nevada.
