The coroner’s office identified a passenger killed in a crash Saturday morning where the CHP says the driver was speeding while passing other vehicles.
Officers say the car was traveling southbound at 90 mph in the northbound lane of Adobe Road, just north of Teal Road.
They say the woman driving lost control and hit a concrete embankment. That’s when 36-year-old Sigifredo Rodriguez-Castro was thrown from the car and killed at the scene.
The driver was taken to Kern Medical.
Investigators say both were not wearing seat belts but do not believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash.
