Coroner identifies man killed in Shafter neck slashing attack

The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a farmworker allegedly killed by a co-worker last week..

The coroner identified the man killed as 53-year-old Anastacio Hernandez Cabrera. His throat was slashed during a fight on Jan. 16 on San Diego Street in Shafter.

Carlos Anaya, 21, is accused in the killing as the culprit.

Anaya pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and is being held on $1 million bail. He is expected in court Friday, Jan. 26.
