A motorcyclist was hospitalized following a crash with another vehicle at Shelby Loop and White Lane Wednesday evening according to Bakersfield police.
Police said a vehicle making a left turn onto Shelby Loop at White Lane collided with the motorcyclist headed eastbound on White Lane at around 6:45 p.m.
According to police, the driver in the vehicle making the left turn did not see the motorcyclist because it did not have proper nighttime lighting. An officer at the scene described the bike as an off-road motorcycle.
The motorcyclist suffered moderate to major injuries and was undergoing surgery at a nearby hospital.
Police said alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision.
