It is estimated that one in every five adults in America lives with some form of mental illness and many of them are homeless.
This weekend you can help by donating to a clothing and food drive sponsored by the National Alliance Mental Health.
The clothing drive is set for Saturday, March 3 at the Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital located at 5201 White Lane from 9 a.m. to noon.
Organizers are asking for gently used clothing and shoes, blankets, hygiene items, toiletries and first-aid kits.
For more information you can contact Sharon at 331-6137.
The clothing drive is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Health, Kern County Behaviorial Health and Habitat for Humanity and benefits the St. Vincent De Paul Homeless Center.
