City tax revenues grow slightly in first quarter

The city of Bakersfield saw some modest growth from tax revenue this quarter.

Compared to the same quarter last year, revenue jumped 1.6 percent from January to March.

Revenue grew about 7 percent when the taking the past four quarters to the previous four.

Officials say that’s within the their estimated growth of 6 percent.
