Shafter has settled its ongoing lawsuit with California’s High Speed Rail Authority over how the project could hurt traffic.
The city argued the High Speed Rail’s Environmental Impact Report didn’t do enough to factor in Shafter’s pedestrian traffic.
The settlement requires the High Speed Rail Authority separate Shafter’s pedestrian traffic from the train’s route in several parts of the city.
The rail must also reimburse Shafter up to $200,000 for expenses.
