Christmas ornaments benefiting local animal shelters

They’re members of our community who are often  forgotten during the holidays—cats and dogs at local animal shelters.

However, a local crafting expert is determined that homeless animals wake up Christmas morning with a present under the tree.

“They’re the ones that are not thought of and they’re not were they want to be because they choose to be there,” said Jessica Tuck.

Tuck has come up with the “purrr-fect” plan this year.

She is making Christmas ornaments for pets.

For $4.00 you can pick a color, tell her your pets name and she’ll make your pet an ornament to hang on your Christmas tree.

Here’s the tail wagging part—instead of keeping any of the profits, Tuck is using the money to buy toys and supplies for our furry friends at the Bakersfield Animal Care Center and Pet Matchmaker Rescue.

“The animals are definitely – they’re in my heart,” Tuck said.

So now… On the night before Christmas…and all through the shelter…all the creatures will scurry with joy and with pleasure.

“I love animals and I wish that I could rescue them all but I can’t so I feel like it’s the very least I can do,” Tuck said.
