The coroner’s office identified a woman killed in a crash in Rosamond Monday night who CHP says was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

CHP says one vehicle left the roadway at around 6 p.m. then overcorrected to get back on it on Mojave-Tropico Road, just north of Rosamond Boulevard. The car spun into another vehicle.

Katlyn Alyse Whempner, 27, of Rosamond was in the vehicle that caused the crash, according to CHP. She wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected and died at the scene.

A woman in the other car was wearing her seat belt and suffered a severe cut to her leg and was taken to a hospital.
