CHP investigating hit-and-run involving pedestrian near Lost Hills

California Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in Lost Hills.

On Tuesday, Oct. 23, CHP officers responded to a hit-and-run on State Route-46 at Lost Hills Road, according to CHP. Officers say 26-year-old Manuel Acosta was crossing the intersection within the crosswalk when an unknown car proceeded into the intersection, colliding with Acosta. 

Acosta was transported to Kern Medical with major injuries. 

The car, described as an unknown make and model full-size S.U.V., fled the scene in a northerly direction.

This collision is being investigated by the Buttonwillow C.H.P. Area Office.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is encouraged to call the Buttonwillow CHP at 661-764-5580. 

This is the second hit-and-run accident in Buttonwillow since Sunday. The first crash killed a dirt bike rider on Buttonwillow Drive and Sullivan Road
