CHP helps teens “Start Smart” on driving

UPDATE (4:47 p.m.): CHP says Wednesday night’s “Start Smart” class has been cancelled.

California Highway Patrol is offering a class for teen drivers and their parents on making sure teens stay safe behind wheel.

“Start Smart” is a free class teaching safe driving habits and tips on how to avoid a collision. The class takes place Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Bakersfield CHP Office located at 9855 Compagnoni St. 

You can sign up for the class by calling the Bakersfield CHP at 396-6600.

CHP says parents and teens will be more aware and better prepared to handle the stresses of being a new driver.
