CHP: Driver killed in solo-vehicle crash on Coffee Road

The family of woman killed in a solo-vehicle crash on Coffee and Snow roads has started a GoFundMe page.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday, according to California Highway Patrol.

The driver was identified as Sophia Rose McQuin, 18, of Bakersfield, according to Kern County coroner.

McQuin was driving a 2003 Honda Accord southbound on Coffee Road when it left the roadway for unknown reasons, according to CHP. The car collided into a power pole, palm tree and then block wall before landing on its side.

McQuin was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to CHP. 

She died on scene, according to officials.
