The California Coast Room at California Living Museum is closed so the zoo can make way for new underwater creatures, the zoo announced.
CALM posted on Facebook saying the California Coast Room is closed through July 31 so the zoo can prepare for new species like octopus and seahorse.
In order to bring the new creatures to CALM, the zoo has to establish a bacteria colony within its tank. Bacteria is essential to break down the ammonia produced by seahorse and octopus, according to CALM.
The official reopening of the CCR will happen sometime in August, CALM said.
