California gas prices hit highest point since summer 2015

The average price of gas in California has shot to its highest point since 2015. 

California’s average price for regular unleaded gas came in Friday at $3.539 per gallon, according to AAA. That’s compared to a high of $3.897 per gallon in July 2015, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration

Kern County prices ranged between $3.551 and $3.479 per gallon, according to AAA.  

The average price of gas Friday in Bakersfield was $3.427, with the lowest available price of $3.090 available at the Sam’s Club on Gosford Road and the Fastrip on Mount Vernon Avenue, according to the KGET.com Gas Tracker powered by GasBuddy.

Nationally, AAA listed the average price of regular gas Friday at $2.697.
