California City police raided three more homes for illegal marijuana Tuesday, and officials said they’ve seized about four tons of marijuana from 50 homes over the last three months.

Police said they began their raids Tuesday morning at three homes. The homes were located in the 9500 block of Peach Avenue, the 7500 block of Jimson Avenue, and the 8500 block of Satin Avenue. The home on Peach Avenue is across from an elementary school.

Officers seized a total of 822 marijuana plants but didn’t find anyone in the homes during the raids and made no arrests.

California City Police Chief Eric Hurtado said they were tipped off by the homeowners who rented out the homes. Hurtado said they became suspicious when they couldn’t contact the renters and notified police.

Police found the homes damaged throughout including damaged walls, exposed wiring, and carpeting soaked with water and chemicals. All three homes were red tagged by city officials and damage was estimated at $100,000.

Police also said one of home renters was stealing electricity and will be charged with theft of electricity.
