Tello, California City Police Department’s K-9, is getting some help for stopping bad guys.

A new bulletproof vest will help stop bullets and knives if they’re ever intended for Tello.

The vest comes from a charitable donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s Incorporated.

An anonymous donor picked up the $950 tab.

Delivery is expected in eight to 10 weeks for Officer Ryan Hulse’s partner.

For more information on how you can help a police K-9 get a vest, call the company at 508-824-6978.
