A Cal City man was arrested over the weekend after police located a backpack full of drugs.

Early Sunday morning, Cal City police officers were dispatched to the 9000 block of Grapewood Avenue for reports of a suspicious vehicle. When officers arrived, they found Isiah Willis, 28, standing next to the car.

During a search, officers found a pellet gun and a backpack containing five bottles of butane, marijuana, two digital scales, 20 grams of meth and a meth pipe.

Willis told officers the backpack was stolen and he was going to use the marijuana and butane to extract concentrated cannabis from the marijuana, according to police.

Willis was booked on a number of charges including, possession and manufacturing of a controlled substance.

As a reminder, police would like to warn the community about the dangers of extracting concentrated cannabis.
