Brooklyn’s Barbecue in bakersfield held a grand opening of its new nightclub this evening, while raising money for a local non-profit.
Ticket sales for Thursday night’s event go toward the League of Dreams, which offers athletic programs for youth with special needs.
The kickoff featured music by the band Night Watchers, as well as raffle prizes, giving folks a chance to have fun and help out a great cause.
“All of our funding comes from sponsorships, grants and donations. Having a partnership with a local business that’s been going for a couple of years makes it wonderful to continue because we have somebody on our side, somebody that knows our programs, that wants to give back to us and support us and continue our mission and motto of giving every child a chance to play,” League of Dreams executive director Jessica Matthews said.
The new Brooklyn’s Nightclub is located at 4500 Buck Owens Boulevard.
