Broken toilet handle forces county to shut down Lamont market

News

School Street Market in Lamont was closed by Public Health Services, and it started with a broken toilet handle.

The market’s online inspection report says the toilet handle in the employee’s bathroom was completely broken, and when an inspector was on the scene, a worker went all the way to their home for a bathroom break.

The owner repaired the toilet but didn’t close the store to do it.

Workers also used a small sink to prepare and wash food, as opposed to a larger one in the kitchen, and a sanitizer bucket was not prepared during the inspection.

The store received a failing score and is currently closed until its next inspection.
