A bicyclist died over the weekend, after he entered an Oildale intersection against a red light.

The crash happened Saturday around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Norris Road and N. Chester Avenue.

The bicyclist, now identified by officials as a 58-year-old man, slammed into the side of a silver Dodge truck, according to CHP.

The truck had the right of way, and the bicyclist entered the intersection against a red light, CHP said.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene of the crash.

The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to CHP.

His name has not been released.
