The “Oscars of Bakersfield” honoring people and groups bettering life in Bakersfield takes place Saturday night.
The 2018 Beautiful Bakersfield Awards has over 120 nominees in 15 categories making this year largest nominee class for the event.
17’s Alissa Carlson is a nominee for Humanitarian of the Year, while Thumbs Up, Cancer Down, the non-profit founded by 17’s Kevin Charette, is nominated for Non-profit of the Year. Telemundo Valle Central’s segment “Abriendo Puertas” is nominated in the Education category.
Tickets to the event are sold out but you can still watch the show live on our Facebook page. We’ll be streaming the show starting Saturday, June 2 at 7 p.m.
KGET TV 17 will also rebroadcast the show on Saturday, June 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
