Bakersfield set to observe Human Trafficking Awareness Month

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and Bakersfield is tackling the issue next week. 

People will gather at the Liberty Bell to raise awareness of the crime and the victims who suffer from it. 

On Tuesday, Bakersfield police, Mayor Karen Goh and the Kern Coalition Against Human Trafficking will meet at the Liberty Bell at noon for an announcement.

Next Monday, a larger, free event will be held at Maya Cinemas.
