A young boy has received a helping hand for the holidays thanks to a Bakersfield police officer.

The Bakersfield Police Department shared the story of Officer Kameron Bailey and Joziah.

Bailey says he was in his patrol car typing a report when Joziah approached him asking if the officer wanted to buy a keychain for $1. Joziah explained he made the keychains and was selling them to make some money so he could buy Christmas presents for his family.

Officer Bailey says he was inspired and bought a couple of them.

Bailey decided he could do a little more for Joziah, so he created a GoFundMe account on Nov. 14.

Ultimately, Bailey presented Joziah with $600 in gift cards so he can buy gifts for his family.

Bailey received a gift too — Joziah presented the officer with a hand-made Christmas card.
