Bakersfield Police Department Laptop Stolen

According to a search warrant filed by the Bakersfield Police Department, a laptop that is property of the BPD was stolen. 

On Dec. 30, 2018 at about 7:14 p.m., there was a report of a vehicle burglary at the 200 block of Quincy Street. The vehicle belonged to a Bakersfield Police Department employee and during the burglary a work issued laptop was stolen.  

The laptop that was stolen is property of the Bakersfield Police Department and contains the public’s personal contact information, officer’s personal contact information, officer’s current GPS locations, and judges personal phone numbers. 

The warrant has enabled the Bakersfield Police Department to work with the wireless provider of the laptop to get GPS coordinates of the laptop in order to locate it. At this time the laptop has not been recovered.
