Bakersfield oilfield employee stole company tools and sold them online, deputies say

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An employee with a local oilfield company stole tools from the business and sold them online, according to deputies.

Edmundo Carranza, 39, was arrested on suspicion of embezzlement Thursday. Investigators found about $1,000 worth of the company’s tools during a search of his residence, sheriff’s officials said. Detectives also found social media posts saying the tools were for sale.
