Bakersfield Karting Experience closes its doors

News

The Bakersfield Karting Experience is a locally owned indoor race track on Gilmore Avenue, off Buck Owens Boulevard.

Not only unique to Bakersfield – the race track is the first of its kind in the country. Attracting the likes of actor Channing Tatum this past Mother’s Day.

But this week, the business published a post on Facebook, saying in part: “No one will ever know the sacrifice, blood, sweat or tears that go into running a business.”

We showed up to The Bakersfield Karting Experience Monday to an empty parking lot and a sign on the door: “Closed indefinitely.”

There is also no existing website or social media platforms remaining for the business.

The Bakersfield Business Licensing office told 17 News, The Bakersfield Karting Experience’s business license expired June 30, and hasn’t been renewed.
