Over the weekend, the Bakersfield Fire Department spread holiday cheer during their 31st Annual Christmas Eve Task Force. With the help of Santa Claus and Sparky the Fire Dog, firefighters delivered toys around town to make the holidays brighter for less fortunate children.
Throughout the year, firefighters work to assist various non-profit organizations within our community. City fire says their tradition signals the year-end finale of those efforts.
“We’re trying to give back and make sure these kids have smiles on their faces this Christmas season,” said Batt. Chief John Frando. “Just trying to give them as many presents as we can, give them gifts and just show them that we love them and we care about them with the Bakersfield Fire Department.”
The toy donations were made possible by PCL Construction and the fire department.
