Bakersfield College kicked off Women’s History Month with a lineup of local women in leadership roles Friday morning.
Women in Leadership was presented to students at the college. The group showcased the range of careers and leadership options for future graduates encouraging them to complete their college degrees or work certifications.
“I’m honored to be able to participate, and I’m honored to be able to share my story because I think women everywhere should be able to share their story, so that we can empower and pass the mantle on to the next generation,” state Senator Shannon Grove said.
Grove sat alongside two superintendents, a local attorney and retired state Senator Jean Fuller.
Grove says the advice she would give to future leaders is to be truthful and be confident in who you are.
