Bakersfield Christian High School went on lockdown for more than two hours after someone threatened a shooting on campus that was later determined to be a hoax.
BCHS sent a message to parents just before noon on Tuesday.
Bakersfield police said someone called the school, identified themselves, and threatened to open fire.
Officers surrounded the school but lifted the lockdown at around 2:15 p.m.
Police say they found a juvenile, who wasn’t a student, matching the name of the caller, but cleared him of any involvement.
Bakersfield Christian High School administrators said they determined the threat to be a hoax.
No arrests have been made, but police are still investigating.
