The mothers of three people, whose homicide and missing person’s cases remain unsolved, are holding a candlelight vigil for solidarity next month.
The mothers of Micah Holsonbake, James Kulstad and Baylee Despot have formed a group called the Bakersfield 3. They will hold a candlelight vigil on Oct. 7 in front of the Kern County Superior Courthouse on Truxtun Avenue.
The three cases took place within one month:
- James Kulstad was shot and killed in Southwest Bakersfield as he was driving near Sandstone Lane and Mountain Ridge Road on April 8.
- Micah Holsonbake has been missing since March 24, while Baylee Despot has been missing since April 25 — just over two weeks after Hulstad’s killing.
The Bakersfield 3 believe the three cases are related, but investigators are still unclear if the cases are connected.
The vigil is open to the public and is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The cases remain unsolved and anyone with information on the killing of Kulstad or Holsonbake’s disappearance, is asked to contact Bakersfield police at 327-7111.
Anyone with information on Despot’s disappearance are asked to call the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at 861-3110.
You can also call the Secret Witness Hotline at 322-4040.
