Authorities arrest 4, seize over $400K in heroin, meth bust

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office says four people were arrested Wednesday in connection to a drug bust involving hundreds of thousands of dollars of heroin and methamphetamine.

The sheriff’s office says CHP officers pulled over a car on Interstate 5 at Frazier Mountain Park Road. Inside the car, deputies say investigators found:

  • 10 pounds of suspected methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $90,800
  • Over 9 pounds of suspected heroin with an estimated street value of $330,040
  • A stolen 9 mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine

Three people, identified as Ruben Cortez, 24; Sadol Diaz, 20; and Jose Lozano, 24 were arrested for sales and transportation of methamphetamine and heroin, conspiracy and weapons violations, the sheriff’s office said.

A fourth man, identified as 20-year-old Ricardo Zepeda, was later arrested on Highway 99 at County Line Road in Delano for conspiracy, and sales of heroin and methamphetamine.

Thee four were booked into the Kern County Central Receiving Facility.
