Arvin’s school district superintendent Dr. Michelle McClean says she’s retiring from her position.
Dr. McClean has been with the district for eight years, during which time board president Geri Rivera says she brought many innovative and positive changes including a successful school bond campaign to modernize and improve school facilities, developing student programs like the dual immersion program and breakfast in the classroom.
Dr. McClean’s work also took her to parts outside of Arvin. She’s traveled to Washington D.C. and Cuba for her advocacy in health and wellness.
Dr. McClean was also named a Health Happens Here Hero by the California Endowment.
Dr. McClean’s retirement will be effective Sept. 14.
