The Arvin High Color Guard can now say they are No. 1 in the world.
On Sunday, the Arvin color guard squad took first place after a weekend of competition in Las Vegas, securing them the top spot in their division.
The team had been practicing over 12 hours a week since November.
The show that put them on top is a story of their journey over the last four years, honoring the guard’s seniors.
Before Sunday’s victory, the team was No. 1 in the state and No. 4 in the country.
The team now moves on to the world competition in Dayton, Ohio in April. The team will leave for Ohio on April 1.
The team has one more competition at North High School on March 30.
The team needs some help to get Ohio and represent Kern County. They have set up a GoFundMe to help pay for the trip. You can donate to it at this link.
