Anthony McClanahan sentenced to 15-years to life in prison for murder of his wife

SALT LAKE CITY (KTVX/KGET) — A former Bakersfield High School star football player was sentenced to 15-years to life in prison for the murder of his wife.

Anthony McClanahan was sentenced for the 2017 killing of Keri “KC” McClanahan. She was found dead at a Park City, Utah hotel room.

Initially, McClanahan told police several men attacked his wife and he found her dead.

Keri was stabbed multiple times.

McClanahan pleaded guilty to her murder, but apologized during his sentencing for the murder.

“I am writing to let you know that I am very sorry for my actions that day,” McClanahan said in court Monday.

“Hopefully, KC’s family can forgive me over time. To let everyone know I love my wife KC very much. She was my soulmate. She was my life.”

KC’s family hoped McClanahan would spend the rest of his life in prison, but his plea deal prevented that.
