An ambulance and two other cars were wrapped up in a three-way crash Monday afternoon on California Avenue.
It happened at the intersection of California Avenue and Oak Street at around 12:45 p.m.
Bakersfield police say the ambulance was going eastbound with its sirens and lights activated, but a car going northbound was slow to yield, and hit the passenger’s side of the ambulance.
The impact knocked the ambulance into a third car.
First responders had to use Jaws of Life to get one person out. A passenger in the ambulance was transported to the hospital.
The crash is under investigation.
