After a week of collecting donations, Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop had a big donation to give to a local non-profit.
Jersey Mike’s handed off a check for over $1,200 to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County.
The association acts as a day center for Alzheimer’s patients. Patients can be dropped off by their families and cared for by the center’s workers.
“It is really hard to fundraise so we are ecstatic that we’re getting some money and it’s staying local and going directly to our clients,” Becca Montoya of ADAKC said.
Montoya said the money can fund various therapy programs for patients.
Montoya says they’ve worked with Jersey Mike’s for three years and the sandwich shop is always happy to help when they go to them.
