A slew of local burglaries in downtown Bakersfield

News

Bakersfield Police Department confirms no arrests have been made in this slew of burglaries, but they’re looking into the possibility that all of the hits in downtown Bakersfield this week could be connected.

Blue Oak Coffee Roasting, on 20th Street, was one of the businesses broken into during the overnight hours of Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Cynthia Price and Bernadette Sebastian are co-owners of the downtown coffee shop. Price told us, “They took our register, and our gumball machine, and some coffee on the way out.”

But they weren’t the only ones burglarized in the downtown area this week.

Bakersfield Police confirmed to 17 news, four other locally owned downtown businesses were burglarized in the span of just 48 hours.

BPD says the other businesses hit are Bravos Charburgers, Wise Buy Drugs, Bakersfield Tech Shop, and Noah’s Ark Pre-School.

If you have any information on these crimes or the criminal(s), call BPD at 327-7111.
