911 emergency services restored for Verizon wireless customers in Kern County

Emergency call service has been restored after it was down overnight.

The outage covered all areas of Kern County along with Inyo and Mono counties. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office and Bakersfield Police Department confirmed the 911 service  was down for Verizon wireless customers late Thursday night.

KCSO officials said they were alerted to the issue at 8 p.m.
