Officials identified the driver killed in a solo-crash north of Kernville as as Jordan Michael Haverstock, 32, of Kernville.
California Highway Patrol received a call around 7:00 Saturday morning about a car crash on Sierra Way north of Cannel Creek Road.
During the course of the investigation it was determined Haverstock of a 1993 Subaru was northbound on Sierra Way when he let his vehicle drift off the road, losing control of the steering. The car slid of the road way and down a rocky slope, according to CHP.
The driver died on scene.
The approximate time of the crash is unknown and officers are still investigating.
