Three people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol at a DUI checkpoint in East Bakersfield.
The checkpoint was conducted from 6 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of East Truxtun Avenue, according to Bakersfield police.
Two of the drivers arrested were previously convicted on DUI charges, police said. In addition, 14 drivers were cited for driving while unlicensed, and 12 were cited for driving on a suspended license.
Police encourage anyone who suspects a drunk driver on the roadways to call 911.
