$25,000 awarded to KCSO for off-road vehicle enforcement

The Kern County Parks and Recreation Commission is stepping up its enforcement of off-highway vehicle areas.

The commission voted to grant $22,000 to the sheriff’s department for OHV, or ‘off-highway vehicle’ enforcement,  OHV equipment and an additional $3,000 for training.

The money comes from green sticker fees on off-road vehicles. Park rangers will also get OHV vehicles for enforcement in parks.
