Two people were arrested at a DUI checkpoint in Northeast Bakersfield conducted through Saturday night and Sunday morning, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The checkpoint was held from 6 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Columbus Street, near Bakersfield College.
One of the arrested drivers was determined to have been driving while high on marijuana, police said.
In addition to the two DUI arrests, two drivers were cited for driving without a license, and five drivers were found to be driving on suspended licenses.
Police encourage anyone who suspects an impaired driver on the roadways to call 911.
