2 arrested after police locate meth, guns in car

Two men are behind bars today after police found methamphetamine in their car during an early morning traffic stop. 

Around 5:07, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 10 block of Union Avenue.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located two guns and three ounces of methamphetamine belonging to the front seat passenger, Raymond Velasquez, 24, according to Bakersfield Police Department. 

Velasquez was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for numerous violations including felon in possession of a firearm, carjacking, criminal threats, gang member in possession of a firearm, sales of methamphetamine, and possession of narcotics while armed with a firearm.

A 17-year-old male juvenile was also in the vehicle, and was booked into juvenile hall for possession of methamphetamine.
