16-year-old killed after being thrown from window of car, 17-year-old driver arrested

A 16-year-old boy is dead after he was thrown from the window of a car. The 17-year-old driver is suspected of driving drunk. 

It happened Sunday around 11:30 p.m., on Renfro Road, near Madison Michelle Way.

Police said the 16-year-old was hanging out of the passenger car window. He was thrown from the car when the driver made a turn. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The 17-year-old driver is accused of driving drunk. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI. He was taken to juvenile hall.

Neither teens name has been released.
